Chicago - Important Update
(6th June 2020) Sadly, the decision has been made to cancel our October production of 'Chicago'. After many discussions, we simply have to put the safety of the people involved, whether that be at a rehearsal or in the theatre, and the audience, first. Regrettably with the UK tour of the show confirmed and scheduled to take place in 2021, it isnt feasible for us to postpone it. As you can imagine, we are devastated to have to cancel not one but two fantastic shows this year, but this year is like no other. We, like all other societies, have had to make some very, very difficult decisions and we are already working on how we can not only bounce back after this but come out the other side as strong as ever. Sunset Boulevard - Important Update (31st March 2020) It is with real sadness that we have to cancel our production of 'Sunset Boulevard' due to the impact of Coronavirus on our rehearsals and the closure of theatres across the country by the government. This is, of course, hugely disappointing for everyone involved. The whole company has worked hard for months planning and rehearsing the show, to see it end so abruptly is heart breaking for all concerned. If you booked your tickets direct through the Theatre then someone from The Montgomery will be in touch with you soon regarding a refund. You can contact them via the below link - https://themontgomery.org.uk/TheMontgomery.dll/Contact Thank you and stay safe, SMTC Management Committee. |

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of our dear friend Michael Moore.
Michael was part of Southey for a great number of years and supported everything we did, even after he was diagnosed with cancer almost 2 years ago. Reunited with his partner Tony and his dad who sadly passed away earlier this year.
